If there’s one person in our lives that is the most important for us to discover and get to know on a deeper level, it’s ourselves. The more we understand ourselves – what we like, dislike, what motivates us and what holds us back – the more we will thrive in all aspects of our lives. In imagery, often the things we see first can tell us a lot about who we are and what we value. What you see first in the image below can help you uncover certain aspects of your personality.

The Zebra

The Zebra means you are the life of the party. Those who know you would describe you as enthusiastic, fun,  and outgoing. People enjoy being around you because of your positive, energetic, and upbeat personality. In life, you crave spontaneity and adventure. While fun, this can be difficult because you need constant excitement to prevent you from getting bored.

The Cat

Unlike the zebra, if you saw the cat first you are an introvert through and through. It’s not that you don’t like people or attention, it’s just that you don’t want those things all the time. Others may peg you as shy, but really you’re just independent and value your alone time.

The Duck

You are an eternal optimist. You refuse to wallow in bad moods or self-pity, instead choosing to look on the bright side. You also don’t like seeing your friends down and will always try to help them discover the good in even the toughest situations. This has its pros and cons, however, because you prevent yourself from truly processing difficult events and emotions.

The Koala

Much like the animal, you are nearly always calm, cool, and collected. You take life at your own speed and don’t let others’ anxiety or attempts to rush you take away from your zen. More of a quiet night in than a wild night out person, you value tranquility and peace in every aspect of your life.

The Elephant

If you saw the elephant first then you are a compassionate person who truly cares about those around them. Your friends and family would describe you as loyal, loving, reliable, and responsible. You are the person your friends and family come to most often for help because they know they can always count on you to listen and lend a hand.

The Bear

A true old soul, you are someone who has always been described as mature or wise beyond your years. You are disciplined and love tradition, which means change or spontaneity can cause you some anxiety. You live by a strong moral code and are more of a background observer than one who loves the spotlight. You are reliable, hard-working, and dedicated to those who are important to you.

The Giraffe

You are a socialite to the truest sense of the word. There is no group that you can’t meld and adapt to and you make friends everywhere. You can talk to anyone about anything and have a real knack for keeping the conversation flowing. Despite your bubbly, upbeat personality, you are quite sensitive. This makes you want to be fiercely loyal to those you love, primarily those who’ve shown you loyalty in return. You crave constant change and abhor the idea of living life with the same routine day in and day out.

The Pig

A real independent, you prefer your company over that of anyone else. You are analytical and observant, which means you’ve gathered quite a lot of knowledge in a variety of subjects over your life. Your brain is always on the move and you’d rather not slow it down to explain things to others. Small details never get past you and your memory is impeccable, making you brilliant at investigative work. Getting along with others doesn’t always come easy, however, and you prefer to work alone rather than with a team.

The Rabbit

You are as creative as they come, and have always been that way. Energetic and happy, you make friends wherever you go and make others laugh easily. You are highly in-tune with the emotive state of others around you and are a true empath. This is good in that it makes you know what people are feeling and what they need in difficult situations, however, this can drain your energy quickly if you’re not careful. Don’t forget to take time to yourself and create boundaries to protect your own mental health and wellbeing.

The Lion

You are a leader and often find yourself in that role, even when you don’t try to be. Taking charge just comes naturally to you. That being said, you always don’t find it hard to convince others to go along with your ideas. You love to win, and this aspect of your personality can make you domineering and intimidating to others. Make sure that you are giving others a chance to voice their opinions, and that you truly listen and consider what they have to say. Your way isn’t the only, or the best, way all of the time.

The Owl

Owls have long been depicted as wise, and you align well with that imagery. You have an analytical mind and enjoy time spent by yourself deep in thought, in fact, you prefer that. Social settings and small talk make you nervous because you find it hard to relate to. You value order and organization – chaos and spontaneity give you anxiety. This comes from the perfectionist side of you, making you always want to be in control of a situation. You are intelligent and witty, so don’t forget to relax and open up to let others see that side of you.
