Unforgettable Rumi Quotes That Can Change Your Life
On Gratitude
“Be grateful for whoever comes, because each has been sent as a guide from beyond.- Rumi
Do you find that people in your life be it family, friends, acquaintances irritate you or get on your nerves?
Well, this my friends is normal, we all interpret life differently which holds a unique vibration in each perceived individual and sometimes the vibration doesn’t match up, leaving more to be desired.
Sometimes people will love you, and sometimes people will hate you, but both have been sent as a guide from beyond.
“Wear gratitude like a cloak and it will feed every corner of your life.- Rumi
Here Rumi is saying never go out of your way for gratitude, that simply isn’t going to last.
One momentum you will be grateful for something going your way, and the next moment you will be pissed off and dissatisfied with the way things are going.
Rumi is simply saying, don’t use gratitude to trick you into being happy, but simply being gratitude so that you are grateful even in those times of dissatisfaction because without a feeling of discomfort, then the opposite would not exist.
“Wherever you are, and whatever you do, be in love.- Rumi
Just as with the way that the mind chooses when it’s going to be grateful, it also chooses when it’s going to try and love.
These things are not the thing you can try to do or go out of your way for. They can only come as a direct manifestation of your conscious awareness.
Love is being conscious of aware presence, and it is available no matter where you or and no matter what you are doing.
“Two there are who are never satisfied — the lover of the world and the lover of knowledge.- Rumi
Do you know what Gratitude cannot happen on the projection of the outside?
It’s because the outside, as in what you perceive as in its truest nature is fleeting, transitory and temporary.
Everything as you see it is through the eyes of perception, but because we continue to have more life experience, take in other people’s perceptions, trial and error our perception is in a never-ending flow of change.
Because it is a never-ending flow of change, you cannot hang onto anything, especially the way you think, which is why gratitude cannot be a thought.
Gratitude has come from within your being, as your being. It comes from your conscious awareness of your own observing presence.
What you need is not more knowledge which is someone else’s thought patterns of the way that the world and people work, in fact, it is because we get addicted to loving the world absolutely that we get addicted to knowledge that it blocks us off from our intuition or the observing aware presence.
There is only one absolute contentment or gratitude, the observing aware presence which is the dimension from within.
On Staying Limitless
“No more holding back. Be reckless. Tell your love to everybody. – Rumi
You have an important message inside of you, that nobody in this world could see but you. This message that you have is born naturally and effortlessly out of your love, out of your intuition that can make a large impact on the world.
People say think before you act, because acting before you think would be reckless, and because this holds people back from telling their love to everyone.
Act first before your thoughts hold you back.
Acting first is a simultaneous reaction to your instantaneous thoughts which are born directly out of intuition.
“Forget safety. Live where you fear to live. Destroy your reputation. Be notorious.- Rumi
As above, being reckless also means forgetting safety and living inside of your fears.
When we think, we are still worried about our reputation.
“What will people think of me, if I fail? the ego asks.
The only reason that you are worried about what others think, is because you are still worried about what YOU think. In fact, it is not you that is worried about what you think, it is your mind that is worried, not you which is the observing aware presence.
If the I Am is breathing, then even the mind is OK because it still has the ability to function.
“Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and right doing there is a field. I’ll meet you there. When the soul lies down in that grass the world is too full to talk about.- Rumi
The human mind gets so fixated, so engrossed in what is right and wrong that we limit the effortless nature of life to overtake us.
Rather, than being so focused on what you interpret, begin to become aware of the infinite observer and your body will follow suite into doing things your past thoughts never imagined possible.
On Being Fulfilled In This Moment As This Moment.
“Why are you so enchanted by this world, when a mine of gold lies within you?- Rumi
We are so fixated on this world to give us fulfillment, in essence we are seekers of gold, not just in terms of money but in terms of love, and yet the priceless love & fulfillment lie inside of you, as you, in the conscious now.
“You wander from room to room hunting for the diamond necklace that is already around your neck!- Rumi
Once you’re aware of who you are as the conscious now, you know that you are the diamond necklace that you search for.
“Past and Future veil god from our sight. Set both of them on fire. – Rumi
Regardless of what your beliefs are about God, let’s call it the infinite, eternal & timeless all that is. And the timeclock will continue to click as we know time, but in your neutral imageless awareness time will stop, and then you will see through the eyes of the infinite, eternal & timeless all that is.
“I know you’re tired but come, this is the way.- Rumi
We are putting so much effort into life, by thinking. We have become thinking machines which tire us out.
Once we go inward though, thought stops and become more effortless in our life we will have found the way out of obsessive-compulsive thought.

When pain arises, the best thing to do is feel that pain fully, not for the sake of holding onto it, but for the sake of letting it go. And the only way to let it go is by accepting fully that it is there and feeling it fully, with the silence of mind.
“Set yourself on fire. Seek those who fan your flames- Rumi
When we are going through fire, we are looking to others to give us a comfortable shoulder to lie are heads on.
This is using the world to avoid the fire of your pain. Seek those who push you further into silence of your pain, for the sake of transcending it.
The Silent God from Within
“There is a voice that doesn’t use words. Listen.- Rumi
That voice is the voice of intuition that comes spontaneously out of the silent presence.

The silent being that we are can neither be created, nor destroyed, is neither born nor dies.
Our being is eternally new.
“I once had a thousand desires but in my one desire to know you all else melted away. – Rumi
We need a lot for our survival, food, water some form of shelter and yet, we have 1000’s of desires on top of those.
If all 1000 of those desires came true, it would not touch the freedom that you find from the realization of your real you and those desires would no longer be that absolutely important anymore.
The inner consciousness of the saint is the true mosque all should worship, God lives there. – Rumi
The awareness of the inner silence, is the true source of God, and rather than worshipping something outside of you, worship the direct source from within.
“I have lived on the lip of insanity, wanting to know reasons, knocking on a door. It opens. I’ve been knocking from the inside.- Rumi
We’ve been searching for freedom in this world standing from the place of freedom.
The moment of search, of looking outward we block off all the freedom that we could ever really want.
“Be empty of worrying. Think of who created thought! – Rumi
The key term here is to be empty. All worry is created from thought, so in emptiness thought does not exist.
Be aware of your own emptiness.

On Ascending Into Oneness

Rather than seeing yourself as a separate drop, begin to feel yourself as the entire ocean. Not to believe, a belief is the drop itself, once belief goes away then ocean appears naturally.
Lose yourself. Lose yourself. Then you will see your own light as radiant as the full moon. – Rumi

The one common denominator that every human has is that we have the same heart. Sometimes bodies get overtaken by minds and block out this heart, but it’s the same none the less.

If you try to love with your eyes, then you will try to love with this image, or interpretation of what love is.
It is in our interpretation though that we perceive a separation, which is why love must be born out of silent presence as silent presence.
Love is.
