Last week’s workouts were off.
Off as in, not as how I had planned. But that’s life! So I rolled with the punches and did what I could with what I had. I didn’t freak out about it. It felt kind of nice to do something different. And it actually is probably a blessing in disguise that I didn’t run as much as I had hoped just so I could give my plantar fascia more down time.
Monday
20 minutes Arc Trainer, 20 minutes stepmill
bench press
TRX tricep ext
TRX inverted row
Smith press SL step ups
SL deadlift
walking lunges
pull up shrugs
rope bicep curl
plank
side plank
med ball toss
Tuesday
4.6 mile mountain/trail run, 1,489 ft elev gain
Kyle and I hit Gunstock Mountain for some climbing. It was a ridiculously humid morning with the threat of thunderstorms. My hair was soaked as if I had jumped in a lake by the time we hit the summit. I even squeezed it out to get rid of some of the weight. We opted to run down the BR trail rather than the maintenance road. I’m so glad we did because I always have flashbacks of rolling my ankle running down that road the week before Mt. Washington 2 years ago. I don’t need that in my life EVER again!
As luck would have it, it started to downpour as soon as we were done. The last place I wanted to be was on a mountain in a lightening storm!
Wednesday
40 minutes step mill alternating front, left, right side steps and 1:00 speed play
bench step ups
hip thrusters
lunge matrix
SL deadlift with DB shoulder press
TRX bridge
eccentric calf raises
eccentric pull ups
pull up shrugs
plank taps
med ball toss
Thursday
I had planned on running today but my son woke up at 2:30 a.m. with a fever and crawled into bed with us. There was no way I could quietly slip away for an early morning run. Since he wasn’t feeling well, he didn’t go to camp which meant I was home bound all day. I could have run on the treadmill but it was an absolute gorgeous day. I wanted to be outside so I took my workout to the backyard while my little buddy slept.
It wasn’t a run but it got the sweat flowing!
walking lunge (20)
squats (20)
squat jump (15)
incline push ups (15)
tricep dips (15)
burpees (5)
side plank to sl balance (10)
med ball mountain climbers (20)
med ball push up with leg lift (10)
Repeat sequence x3
Cooper photobombs are optional.
Friday
Rest day
After being out till midnight on Thursday for a concert with friends, there was no way I was setting my alarm for anything that had a 4 a.m. in it!
Saturday
4.2 mile run, 211 ft elev gain, 8:46 avg/pace
It felt so good to be running. It’s kind of weird how with my reduced mileage lately, my body has been feeling very off. Let’s just say things aren’t running as smoothly if you know what I mean. As soon as I finished my run, everything was back to normal operations.Â
Sunday
Power yoga @ Bending Bodhi
It rained like crazy all day long which made for a lazy Sunday. With no plans, I hopped into the studio for a class. My body needed it like WHOA. It’s unbelievable how my body can feel so scrunched and compacted with missing a week of yoga.
Road blocks in my #running but still getting quality workouts in! #fitness #runnersproblems
