Last week’s workouts weren’t entirely what I planned but it showed me things are moving in the right direction in terms of my plantar fasciitis.
Over the long Labor Day weekend, we went camping and I had full intention of getting in at least one or two trail runs. But those runs never happened. Every morning I woke up groggy and stiff. It took some time before I felt awake. The last thing I wanted to do was run. By the time I did feel awake and ready, it was time to do family stuff so my runs got pushed aside. No biggie. This week is another week to get things moving.

Tuesday
6 mile run with Kyle
A nice and easy run that didn’t feel so easy because of the ridiculous humidity. Per usual for this summer, I was drenched in sweat just after doing my dynamic warm up. I had to laugh at my photo that I snapped after the run. I looked like I lubed my legs up with baby oil. Nope…all sweat baby.
Wednesday
30 minutes Stepmill
Strength training:
Bench press
Squat press
Decline push ups
Smith press single leg bench step ups
Split squats
Cable row w/ squat
Eccentric pull ups
Pull up shrugs
KB down dog
Plank with KB pull thru
Thursday
5 mile trail run
It was another hot and humid day so I took to the trails in hopes for some comfort. Even in the shade, it was nothing but a soupy, swampy sweat fest. The calendar says that the dog days of August are ending but Mother Nature has other ideas.
Friday
30 minute treadmill walk + short strength training session of single leg squats, hip hikes, lunges, planks, side plank to single leg balance
Ron wanted to try going to the gym in the early morning before work so I was home bound. I did an interval walk workout on the treadmill followed with some light strength work before heading into work.
Saturday and Sunday
Hiking, swimming, bike rides, and Peddle Boating
We spent the weekend camping at White Lake State Park where we did some hiking, lots of swimming, bike rides and a Peddle Boat tour of the lake. It’s amazing how exhausted you can be at the end of the day when you spend all day outside. And when you sleep like crap the first night of camping because you hear every single thing. Especially the raccoons that decided to investigate your site and the loons who decided to start calling at 3 a.m. It was a fun weekend but man, I’m tired!
How was your week in workouts?
Linking up with Hoho and Wendy for the weekly workout wrap up.
