It’s the last week of August and my kids are heading back to school this week. While it’s beginning to feel like it’s the end of summer, I’m begging time to slow down.
Please, please say it’s not the end of summer!
Technically we have until almost the end of September so I’m going to soak up as much as the summer like vibes as I can.
Way back in May, I made a summer bucket list. Three months later, I think I’ve been pretty successful. Lots of beach days thanks to the ridiculous heat and humidity, plenty of hikes, playing tourist in my wonderful state, and even some mountain top yoga.
I really love summer but I must admit that September is kind of a fav too. It’s still warm (but not too warm) and the nights are cool so I can gradually start to pull out my cooler weather sweatshirts and hoodies. I think I’ll be living in this prAna Shelton top. The color alone makes me think of fall! It’s a pullover hoodie that is not too heavy and not too light, perfect for the in between season. It has the softness of a button down shirt but is a tad bit heavier for warmth. The kangaroo pocket is nice but what I got really excited about was that there’s a zippered pocket INSIDE the kangaroo pocket. Genius!
I can see myself wearing this on family walks, hikes or tossing it on over a tank for a casual day out.
I’ve been a fan of prAna leggings ever since I got my first pair years ago. They stay put in yoga class like no others. I added the Transform High Waist Capri to my collection and couldn’t be happier. There’s no worries of pulling, tugging, or sagging during class or whatever it is I’m doing. Because yoga pants are totally acceptable as everyday clothing. #truth
This September, you’ll find me embracing the last moments of summer. I’ll be hiking, taking walks on the trails to the bay, hitting a sunset mountain yoga class and enjoying the last moments of warmth and less layers before the snow flies.
Sigh. I’m not ready to think about snow just yet.
By the way, I know I mention this every single time I talk about prAna but their swimsuits are THE best. Cute yet functional. It passes the SUP, kayaking, tossing the football at the beach and running after the kids test with no wardrobe malfunctions at all. I just bought THIS one a couple of weeks ago and love it. September is a great time to hit the beach because all of the tourists are gone but we still have the blue bird sky days.
Speaking of the beach, you never would think of surfing and the Middle East would go together. Check out this rad video of 5 women on a remarkable trip to do just that.
prAna is Sanskrit for breath, life and vitality of the spirit. The company uses this as its name to lift their aspirations and guide their actions towards becoming a more socially mindful and environmentally sustainable organization.
