What I Did To Become 2 Years Migraine Free

During the darkest days of chronic migraine, I became lost in a world of depression and found myself bombarded by one negative thought after another. How on earth was I ever going to escape this pain I remember thinking over and over? In those dark times, I never could have dreamt that one day I would become free from migraines.

But here I am, absolutely overwhelmed and blessed to report that I have not had a single migraine in two whole years (and counting)! What seemed like the impossible has actually happened; my life is now completely migraine free!

And believe it or not, pharmaceutical medicine had absolutely nothing to do with how I became migraine free.

Surprised?

Before my healing journey began, you name it, I had tried it. Nerve blocks, Botox injections, preventative meds, trigger point injections… I could go on and on, the list was endless.

But it wasn’t one of these countless medications that led to my healing, instead, it was a combination of lifestyle changes that allowed me to get rid of my migraines once and for all.

So today, I am going to share with you my 5 essential secrets that helped me to break free from a life of chronic migraines.

Step 1  – Create a mindset shift

After reading the book “The Secret” by Rhonda Byrne, my outlook on my illness changed dramatically. Learning about the law of attraction (how thoughts become things and how what you think about you bring about) was a complete revelation for me. This perspective opened my eyes to the fact that I was only constantly focused on one thing, being sick 24/7. [1].

So ultimately, the more time I spent focusing on migraines, the more migraines I was getting in return. I had an epiphany and realized that in order to break free from chronic migraines, my mindset needed to shift away from the pain and instead focus on the life I wanted every day – a life where I was healthy, happy, and fulfilled. And as a result over time, I learned that when I focused on health and healing, my body followed.

Step 2 – Become a ‘student of self’

As much as we would all love to be given a”‘magic pill” to make our migraines vanish into thin air, realistically this is never going to happen. Becoming free from migraines takes hard work, daily commitment, and above all a thirst and hunger for knowledge. You must desire to educate yourself about the body and what works for your unique body. A pill simply will never be able to do this for you.

When I stepped up and decided to take my health back into my own hands, I began to see daily improvement. YOU have to make it happen, as no one else can do it for you. Doctors are there as a guide, however, you are the one in the driving seat.

Step 3 – Visualize the healthy you

Another revelation happened when I discovered the power of meditation and a man called Dr. Joe Dispenza. Through his daily meditations, Dr. Joe helped me retrain and rewire my brain for health rather than sickness by accessing my subconscious mind [2]. My dedication to his daily meditations resulted in some astonishing results such as stopping a migraine dead in its tracks. Yes, this actually happened!

Through visualizing and feeling the emotions associated with the healthy and happy future I dreamed of, my body didn’t know the difference between what was real life and what was in my mind. Miraculously, what I visualized and what I actually experienced started to align before my very eyes.

Step 4 – Re-evaluate your diet

Have you ever considered that your so-called ‘trigger foods’ might not be the only foods contributing to your migraines? Doctors only seem to focus on certain foods to avoid, but what about everything else you eat in between? Surely that matters too, right?

The answer is yes, it does.

After discovering Anthony Williams, The Medical Medium, I began to learn how to use food as medicine. Instead of bombarding my body with a cocktail of harmful pharmaceuticals, I changed my approach and instead fed it with an abundance of healing fruits and vegetables whilst removing all dairy, processed foods, and animal products [3]. I quickly saw results within three short weeks and my migraines began to decrease in intensity and severity.

As Hippocrates once said “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food”.

Step 5 – Learn to truly listen to your body

The body is always talking to us; it’s just whether or not we choose to listen.  

If you understand this principle and start to use your pain and symptoms to your benefit, then you can start to understand what it is your body needs in order to regenerate and heal.

Every ache, pain, and throb is your body’s way of trying to communicate what it needs. So embrace this, turn up the volume, and start to tune in and listen to your body.
